Meet Rob

Rob Pickett formed the housing technology firm of RobPickett &Associates in 2001 based on a 26-year career in the housing industry. From a childhood interest in shelter design, Rob has built a reputation as an expert in the log home industry. With nearly 15 years focused on log homes, he has been responsible for design, engineering, materials estimating, and pricing operations. Career highlights have included product development, including innovation of a new log profile; creation of new model plan series; conception of a proprietary national pricing system; publication of original and editorial writings (e.g., white papers, construction manuals, articles, etc.); successful management experiences; and more.  His career focus has been on the methods and materials involved with the production of housing.

2008-2010 — President, ICC Building Safety Association of Vermont (www.buildsafevt.org)

2008 to present — Steering Committee, BGNH – Build Green NH Council (www.buildgreennh.org), formerly the HBRANH Green Building Committee.

2009 — Joined the team at Epoch Homes to provide VT and NH builders with quality-built custom modular building opportunities.

2008 — Earned the Certified Green Professional (CGP) designation, identifying him as someone with knowledge of the best strategies for incorporating green building principles into homes.  The CGP program is administered by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) University of Housing and the Home Builders & Remodelers of New Hampshire (HBRANH).

Rob earned his CGP and became an accredited NAHB Green Building Program Verifier (#047) in 2008.  This followed an opportunity to represent the Log Homes Council in the development (2007-’08) of the NAHB-ICC 700 - 2008 National Green Building Standard (NGBS).

2006 — TimberLogic LLC was established to brand the TimberLogic name and build a distinct identity.

2003 to 2007 — Chair, ICC Consensus Committee on Log Structures (IS-LOG) charged with the development of ICC 400-2007, Standard on the Design and Construction of Log Structures.

2002 — Formed Timber Technology Network to serve as the marketing venue for three independent log home consultants.

2001 — Formed RobPickett &Associates; moved back to Hartland, VT.  Served partial term as President of the Log Homes Council.  Became certified as Grading Program Quality Supervisory Agent.

1997 to 2001 – Member of the Log Homes Council Steering Committee (revolving through chairs of Secretary, Treasurer, VP, and 2001 President)

1998 to 2000 – Chairman of the Log Homes Council Technical Committee

1993 to 1998 – Chairman of the Log Homes Council Log Grading Program
