Documentation is a Step Toward Quality Rob broke into the construction manual business with Colorado Log Homes’ Construction Manual in 1977. He has since been involved as an editor, critic, and/or original author on client and employer documents. “Rob was very detail oriented and one of the best technical writers I have ever worked with.” — Michael Loy, VP Design, Southland Log Homes |
The Log Homes Council retained Steven Winter Associates in the late 1970’s to establish a standard for the visual stress grading of non-rectangular timbers used in log construction. The result was ASTM D3957. With that the standard and accreditation by the National Evaluation Service in place, training and implementation fell into Rob’s hands. He has been in log grading ever since. |
Rob has represented client interests to evaluation and code review committees, has provided training seminars on technical subjects such as log construction or green building to various audiences, and has presented technically-oriented updates to company personnel on proprietary products or services. |
